Summary Description Primary responsibility will be performing feature testing for .NET Data Provider for Teradata. .NET Data Provider for Teradata is an implementation of Microsoft ADO.NET Data Provider specification. It provides access to the Teradata Database and integrates with the DataSet. .NET applications use the .NET Data Provider for Teradata to load data into the Teradata database or retrieve data from the Teradata database. Responsibilities include understanding the feature specifications early in the development cycle to create test specifications, test cases and test plan, isolating and troubleshooting the problems, providing assistance to the developers in resolving problems. Candidate will be expected to work closely with team leader, Project Manager, team members. Programming skills in C# is required. Candidate is expected to have sound knowledge and experience working on ADO.NET, Entity Framework, Microsoft .NET Framework. Having knowledge on coded UI technology will be an added advantage. The ideal candidate will also be able to write Feature/ Unit Test programs in addition to doing some minor bug fixes. Education and Experience Requirements: BS in Computer Science or related field with 2+ year programming experience and/or software testing experience. Post-graduate degree is a plus. Ability to understand product features and functionalities from design documents and wherever necessary analyzing certain code modules, execute testing according to test plan and document results with some supervision. Experience working in Microsoft Windows .NET Framework environment. Experience working on ADO.NET specification Experience working on Entity Framework Project Assignment: Test development & maintenance of .NET Data Provider for Teradata test suite. Feature testing for new features, enhance the tests, bug fixes, verifying product documentation and providing testing support. Candidate may require providing assistance in debugging and isolating the problems. Key Areas of Responsibility: Primarily responsible for the development of test programs for .NET Data Provider for Teradata new features (based on enhancements to ADO.NET specification, Entity Framework, Teradata DBS). Maintain and enhance CBIT (Continuous Build and Integration Test platform). Verify product documentation for correctness. Write technical documents that accurately describe unit test plans and reports. Execute tests according to approved test plans. Aptitude for understanding complex software from the functional and technical perspective. 7. Report progress against objectives on periodic basis Scope: Individual Contributor Works with project team members, reports to engineering manager.
