Just a bit of off-topic -- this is one of the fastest websites I have come across lately -- http://www.smashingmagazine.com/ -- it scores 100/100 at pagespeed on both desktop and mobile (google.com's landing page surprisingly does not score 100/100 at pagespeed!)

Okay I took the bait and tried it. My initial impression however is that I'm not a real fan of the chosen textual layout, but second right behind that in my head was "Holy Cr*p!" The sheer amount of payload there upon landing in the time it took to render was indeed very very good. It holds up across the site too. Thanks for sharing!
