Guys an work around to solve Step download time out error. Apart from increasing the Step download time.... Is thr any??? Pls Help

Also check your SUT. Maybe it has massive synchronization issues, single threaded code or subsystem linkage, etc. Sometimes increasing the step dl timeout is actually needed, but when it is it usually signals issues with the above problem areas and your users will most likely not want to wait around for 2 minus by default let alone any longer.

you no need to increase time out in scripts when page is responding very slow by manual walk through.. Just check with your admin to check wether corresponding Api is pointing right service or not.. also, check if there is any stucked/hung threads being placed at any node.

This reminds me of a joke/anecdote where a person's car kept making a strange noise so they just turned up the radio. Pay attention to what the app is telling you!

"Doctor, whoever I drink tea I experience a stabbing pain in my left eye" "Take the spoon out of the tea cup before you drink"

that is one option but not foolproof ... generally its a standard practice before running any script on perf centre write/run a diagnostic script that log all kind of errors (this will be one long script and can be reused every time) .... this will let you know all kind of problem and then you can take appropriate action ... the problem can be some flash not getting downloaded ... data non vaailable in db ....or there is some web component disallowed by proxy setting .... i am sure in above case some web component is not getting downloaded ... he should also look for proxy setting
