PerfTest — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
Short version
PerfTest collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and makes no network requests at all. Every benchmark result stays on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. PerfTest does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or usage data. The app has no sign-in, no user profile, and no server. It never contacts perf-test.com or any other host while running.
What stays on your device
PerfTest stores two things locally, inside the app's own private storage:
- Your benchmark history — the scores from each run, the device model and operating-system version reported by the OS, the thermal state at the time, and the date. Kept in a local database so the app can show your score trend over time.
- Your settings — screen-on preference, haptics, theme, and whether the battery test runs by default.
Both are deleted when you delete the app. You can also erase your history at any time from Settings → Clear benchmark history.
What the app reads from your device
To display live device status and to run its tests, PerfTest reads the following using standard, public operating-system APIs. None of it leaves your device:
- Battery level, charging state, and — on Android, where the system provides it — current, voltage, temperature and cycle count
- Thermal state
- Total and available memory, total and free storage
- Device model, chip, GPU name, screen resolution and refresh rate, OS version, kernel version, uptime
PerfTest requests no runtime permissions. It cannot read your files, contacts, location, photos, camera, microphone, or anything belonging to other apps — and it does not try to.
What the app does not do
PerfTest is a measurement tool, not a system utility. It does not:
- Read other apps' data, battery usage, or resource consumption
- Modify system settings or manage other applications
- Run in the background or start on boot
- Contain advertising, third-party SDKs, or analytics libraries
- Send anything anywhere
Sharing a result
If you tap Share result, the app renders an image showing your score, the component breakdown, your device model and the date, and hands it to your system share sheet. Nothing is uploaded by PerfTest; where that image goes is entirely your choice, and it happens only when you initiate it.
Children
PerfTest is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Since the app collects no data, we do not expect material changes.
