VuGen stand-alone installation. Local Admin access on Win7 64-bit. Disabled UAC and DEP. Installing as admin. Get a permissions error when installing the Pre-Req's. In this case it is the MS VS C++ 2012 x86 EXE and you cannot install it stand alone either. It actually says "Access is denied". Is it possibly a corporate policy locking down the registry keys preventing them to be written? Mcafee AV is disabled. Anything else I can check?

Most likely it's something related to corporate domain policy. However if you are a local admin you might be able to override policies locally and then install the MS prerequisite.

LR 12.50 (for use with PC). SP1 is installed for Win7. Updates are controlled by client domain update push.

I'm almost sure it is related to windows update , could you share which updates are installed on this machine? Installing them will give you the ability to install the prerequisite

We switched to a new Win 7 machine with the same build (assumed) but McAffee was completely installed and not just disabled. Everything installed with no issues.
