If I have a LR license of 1K users but according to the requirement have to simulate 1300 users load on the server how can we handle the situation?

request your management for another 300 users license.

There are three ways.... 1. Either get a LR licence for another 300 Vusers, or 2. Use capacity modelling tool to analyse your system hardware performance with a correlated volume of 1300. For this also you need a licence....or 3. Use Jmeter (free of cost), just download and use....☺

Resize your environment to the half and you can test the same thing with 650 users.money saved.

Try to run as 2 different scenarios say same script create 1 scenario with 650 and 2nd scenario with 650 user loads trigger both scenarios from 2 different controller machines or if u using performance center assign different cloud Controller machine for each scenario and run those script.

You can create 2 scenarios in different controllers but it will double your task by creating 2 reports, comparison and all... It's better to slice the environment like Vishal Anand has suggested and run the test..

Most cases if system works for 1k, it should work for 1.3k. I would tell this to customer and not worry much

But testing on half of actual environment becomes extrapolation so I guess better to test as 2 different scenarios

All the licenses are node locked. Hence if u installed the license on one machine, you cannot use it on another machine.

For every controller machine having different license so we can use 2 different scenarios as I mentioned above.

Actually the use of loadtest is to find the servers behaviour when there is an load on the servers . In this case If she try run it with 2 different scenarios in different times then what will be the use of running load test . Even if she try to run it on the performance centre she should have different controllers and as well the license for that controllers and this is more worth full and more effort compare to get the license for the remaining 300 users. So, Suchhanda Dey I suggest you that try to run the test with 1300 users and this make the sense of loadtest. The one which I explained is normal case but, I don't know the actual requirement of your client .

Suman in my above post I asked her to create different scenarios and asked her to run both scenarios at s time by assigning different controller cloud or Normal machines and also Lgs too. If test running in PC we can assign different controller and each controller machines having different license and same applicable for Normal controller machines I believe u got my point.

you can simulate 1300 user load with your 1000 user load license by reducing the pacing and think time, but you have to maintain slow ramp - up (to make sure application is not loaded quickly)
